On Saturday 27th August 2016 I'm running a 26 mile mountain marathon to help celebrate my 70th birthday, which was at the beginning of August, and to raise funds for a local charity Hospice at Home West Cumbria.

I will be running part of the Gerry Charnley Way, starting in Eskdale and going via the Gerry Charnley cairn, into Borrowdale and back to Eskdale.  This mountain marathon goes over Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in the lake district, as well as going over many other high ridges. My challenge is 26 miles of fell running, with 8,000 feet of assent.

Any and all sponsorship in aid of this very worthwhile charity would be gratefully received... please have a look at my JustGiving page to find out more.

Many thanks
